SERVICES
GME Testing is dedicated to employing state-of-the-art technologies and using up-to-date, efficient resources in addressing geotechnical evaluations and material testing. Professional engineers/ project managers who provide prudent and innovative alternatives while recognizing the importance of cost constraints direct projects. Our staff is committed to providing quality and timely services in these areas:
Geotechnical & Related Engineering Services
- Subsurface Exploration & Soil Borings
- Geotechnical Foundation Engineering and Evaluation
- Foundation Bearing Evaluations (Piles, Caissons, Geopiers®, Helical Piers, etc.),Deep & Conventional Types
- Laboratory Testing and Analysis
- Pavement Recommendations and Design
Earthwork Monitoring and Testing
Quality Control (QC) in construction and industry is a major concern to owners and project participants. Systematic testing of construction materials is the only way the owner, contractor, architect or engineer can be sure that the materials being used are of the quality specified and intended.
GME Testing’s quality control staff expertise provides valuable assistance in the construction of foundations for various types of projects. These include:
- Industrial and manufacturing facilities
- Assisted Living Facilities
- and many other construction projects, etc.
Our testing activity ranges from detailed evaluation relating to materials problems to the routine sampling and testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, masonry, grout, steel and other materials.
Construction Materials Services
- Earthwork Monitoring and Testing of Soils and Aggregate
- Laboratory Materials Testing
- Concrete, Grout and Mortar Testing
- Nuclear Soil Density Testing & Inspections

- Concrete Slump & Air Testing
- Concrete Compressive Strength Testing
- Concrete Flexural Strength

- Steel Bolts, Welds and Reinforcing Steel Inspections and Observations

Laboratory Testing
Our laboratory facilities are equipped to perform various types of services.
Soil characterization/classification, such as:
- Soil Unconfined Compressive Strength
- Soil Permeability (i.e. cohesive and cohesionless) testing
- California Bearing Ration (CBR)
Soils & Foundation Engineering
At GME Testing, our engineers provide geotechnical reports for commercial and industrial developments, educational facilities, correctional institutions, communication towers, bridges, roadways, etc. From simple site reconnaissance to large scale, multi-phase evaluations, GME Testing provides quality service with innovative and cost effective solutions and recommendations.
Our engineers routinely prepare geotechnical reports in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan using the results obtained from drilling, laboratory testing, and analytical techniques. These reports are used to prepare recommendations for site development, grading and site modification and improvement, erosion prevention/protection, differential settlement analysis, earth/rock fills, piles and drilled piers (caisson) installations.
Foundation Evaluations and Inspections
GME routinely provides field observations and evaluations during foundation construction for commercial, industrial, and residential clients. Inspection is provided for a variety of foundation types, including conventional shallow footings, drilled piers Geopiers® and piles, and driven pile foundations. We provide the inspection and testing documentation that is required to ensure that the design is verified, and meets the project specifications.
Construction-Related Monitoring and Testing
Soil Testing & Inspection
GME Testing provides field-testing and inspection services during mass earthwork operations to insure compliance with project specifications. Field observations include documentation of undercutting, benching and fill placement. Observation and documentation is also provided during shallow and deep foundation system excavations. Trial testing of soil cement, soil lime, soil lime Kiln dust, etc. Laboratory testing includes maximum dry density/optimum moisture content determination of soils for use in site filling, grading and earth embankments. In addition, corresistivity tests are routinely conducted to evaluate pH on various soil types and conditions.
Geophysical resistively testing for the near surface soils at the site is performed according to ASTM Method G-57.
Concrete, Mortar and Grout Testing & Inspection
GME Testing provides field-testing of fresh concrete during placement. This testing consists of temperature, slump, air content, unit weight evaluation, yielding testing, calcium nitrite, calcium chloride, and the casting of test specimens for compressive and/or flexural strength determination. Laboratory analysis consists of curing, preparation, and strength testing for compressive and flexural strength.
Asphalt Testing & Inspection
GME Testing provides laboratory and field-testing of asphaltic concrete pavement. Field-testing consists of in-place density determination using nuclear density gauges and pavement thickness verification using coring equipment. Laboratory testing consists of determining Asphaltic Concrete content (extraction) and aggregate distribution.
